Default Fire Extinguishers/mounts

I have noticed in several pictures that folks have fire extinguishers and they are mounted in front of the drivers seat. So, what kind of extinguisher, mount brackets and where do I get them.

Ralph-
At the risk of seeming curt, this topic has been flogged to death, almost as much as "What oil should I use?". Suggest you use the search function for "fire extinguisher". You'll find a number of threads with very good suggestions, sources like RENNLINE, Brey-Crouse, Stable Energies, etc.

Rennline here.
Just make sure you order correct one. If your seat is manual with electric height adjustment, you need holder for electric seats.

I have this mount for sale if anyone's interested: http://www.stableenergies.com/Fire-E...ductinfo/FEM2/

$45 shipped.

Works with this type of extinguisher which is approved by PCA for DE: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMEREX-B417T...item4ad7e1d528

I am very happy with the Rennline. A few pictures from when I installed it:

Question Define electric vs. manual?

I'm shopping for a FE seat mount. In past discussions it was stated that Stable FEM3 worked best on 993 power seats to get the best close fit, vs. the FEM2. These are for 964 power seats. There appears to be a lots of good options from other companies but again a decision has to be power vs. manual. Can somebody define power and manual in respect to the mounts? I think most standard 993 seats I have seen are power in some axis. Are they defining power as electric in the forward and back direction? What's the difference in geometry between the power and manual seats, and 964 seats? My seats are manual in the forward and back direction. If the power seats have a motor or bracket to clear why does the power seat mount not fit a manual seat? Any help would great. It would be helpful if those who recommend a mount specify if they have power or manual seats. Thanks.

I put it together from Ram Mount parts and mounted it to the bottom of the Rennline Fire Extinguisher mount. I have the cup holder that mounts to the seat rail, but found it clumsy and in the way of moving the seat. Mine moves with the seat and does not hinder access to any seat control.

A friend of mine does make and sell these here: http://public.fotki.com/ttschwing/ga...ter_cupholder/

Just FYI, this isn't "metal to metal" and can't be used in a PCA sanctioned event. I have the ram mount for my phone for driving videos, but would not feel safe or comfortable using it on a 3 lb fire extinguisher. But that's just me.

Ilko, I'm not sure I follow. The Ram Mount is not attached to the fire extinguisher, but is attached to the bottom of the extinguisher mount. I seldom use it, but it works great for a bottle of water, etc.

I have a Rennline FE mount, p/n FE02 (mount only, no fire extinguisher), that won't work with my new Recaros. Some hardware is missing. The stiffener plates are not pictured, but are included. I'd take $50.00 and will pay shipping costs within the U.S.

You’re responding to a seven year old post. In any case the seat has to come out to bolt in the Rennline mount.

Why not just buy an Element single use fire extinguisher and put it in the side pocket or glove box?
