I installed the GR myself, skipped the SSK. GR is great. I am very pleased with the results.

Install was straight forward, i did replace the cups and other small bushings.

Guys are great at FD Motorsports.

just had the gr and ssk installed 2 weeks ago and agree with all the posts. i think it is your best bang for the buck!!

I had installed maybe 4 or 5 kits and the last one I was having trouble with - just didn't feel right. Long story short, I called Darin and he explained all the minor tweaks you can do over the phone while I was working on it! Probably should have your mechanic do the same.

FD and Darin are gems in the world of Porsches.

Dirt on FD. Motorsports? On the 993 forum or is like an expose on Mother Theresa. As expected it was unfounded. How many companies would have a whole Internet community come to their defense so quickly and so adamantly? Not many.

a little off topic, but I'm in Montreal as well and i am about to order Walrod bushings and either RS or Wevo mounts and was wondering if i can feel how stiff and noisy they really are.

PS. who is your local mechanic?

I installed the GR myself and with Darrin's advice, eliminated the forward nylon cup by fitting a 10mm Heim joint for a little more precision. More reliable too...I have C2 so didn't need the Service Tool 001 treatment to the cover. Marked improvement overall. The OP has a bad installation for sure.

There was also the issue with the bushing that inadvertently was left in the original shift rod....

Lucky for Andrew, the collective wisdom of 4 Rennlisters was able to solve the problem!

It really depend on your individual tolerance, however, personally, I have Walrods, pinned tie rods and WEVO Blacks, and have no problem with the comfort level on the street.

My previous 911 was an SC that had a very stiff suspension,that was NOT comfortable for the street and eventually led to me selling that car.

Many have installed RS and WEVO mounts. Very few have posted that they were too harsh, although, I did buy my WEVOs from an individual that did not like them. My suggestion is to try and drive a car that is already set up with which ever you are considering, and see for yourself.

With the Walrods, I did not notice much change. With the WEVOs, there is a slight increase in noise, and a more planted feeling at the rear of the car. More vibration comes through as well due to the decrease in isolation relative to the OEM motor mounts.

Hey AWD guys with GoldenRods....What are your solutions for "massaging" the tunnel undertray? I saw the riveted blister someone created, but wanted to see what other options I had. Not sure I want to cut and leave a hole there.

+1. I supported the sides of the pan on 2x4's and took a med size ball peen to it. Nothing to it, once you get past the guilt. If I were in production of these I think I would make a rounded hardwood block to use on a press after heating the pan a bit. That would make a very smooth, professional looking bump.
