Guesswork is expensive. It leads to costly repair errors that compromise vehicle safety. Talented pro-sumer or repair professional, you need accurate vehicle data and specifications.

These quality books are carefully edited and illustrated. A worthwhile investment.

Prices, especially shipping, are ridiculously high. No thanks.

We try to keep best prices on the web for these items, and we welcome being notified if we don't have the best prices. Unfortunately, shipping 25+ lbs of fluid to Alaska with insurance and tracking info is always expensive, but we are constantly working on better shipping methods.

Nice packs -- shipping and handling costs normal.

Thanks ECS.

Its a very nice one stop kit, however, how does a "major service kit" not have an engine air filter? That's the most commonly replaced filter on my car.

All of our Major Service Kits include a engine air filter, unless I somehow am missing something. You can click the kit contents on the bottom right of the screen and that will also give you Description, Brand, and Qty.

I see now, I missed it in the picture. I'm very much a visual learner.

Definitely not true. Many other businesses have figured out lower cost shipping. I purchase cases of Brad Penn, including delivery for the same amount of what ECS charges for shipping. More likely, the amount of business in Anchorage is too low for ECS to care. No problem. Lots of other choices.

I've always used Porsche filters on my 993. What's the concensus for Mahle filters for our cars? Or is Mahle OEM for Porsche 993's?

the rossinator

if you are very much a 'visual learner', how come you missed the photographs of each side of the air filter?

Actually, our Porsche Brand Manager spent most of his life in Eagle River and Anchorage. When he started here, shipping cost to AK was his biggest complaint. It's one of the reasons we now offer USPS, though our options with them are still limited. But we are still exploring other options. We do not ship without insurance or tracking numbers, since shipping anything has associated risks of loss or damage, regardless of the carrier.

For non-turbo cars we found the Mahle to be every bit as effective as the OE, a lot has to do with personal preference and cost. Hopefully a few other members will chime in. To my knowledge Mahle does not make the Porsche 993 OEM oil filters.

FYI <> When shipping to canada the best way to ship is USPS.

This avoids excessive Brokergae Fees for Handling and paperwork.
Also puts a smile on the Buyers when afterward - no Surporises.
The border Charges are $10 Handling Plus applicable Taxes on Value Declared by Shipper on the Package
Best regards!
