Will Michelin Pilot Super Sports fit on a C2S?
I've got a '97 C2s currently running Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires on factory 18" turbo twist hollow spoke wheels. It's time to replace them and the Michelin Super Sports seem to get a lot of good reviews. However, they don't come in the factory spec sizes (225/40 front, 285/30 rear). The closest Super Sport size is 235/40 and 295/30.
Has anyone tried these, and/or know if they will fit on my car without rubbing or other problems? If not, what's the next best choice, Bridgestone S04's?

The Super Sports ARE available in 225/40-18 front, I have them on my C2. 295/30-18 will fit out back fine also. Friend of mine ran those tIre sizes on his C2S though the rears were on 11" wheels.

Thanks for the replies. The guy at the tire store said they were available in 295/30, but looking on the Michelin website all I see are 295's for 19" wheels. It shows 265 as the widest Super Sports for 18". So does anyone here know if there is a set of Super Sports that will work well on my C2S? I don't want to go to 265 in the back.
Another alternative that comes in the factory spec sizes is Bridgestone, but now I'm confused on that too. I'm seeing both S04 and S02A recommended, but not sure what the difference is. The guy at my local discount tire store said he had the S02 readily available in 285/30 and 225/40 18".
Open to any other tire recommendations from other C2s/C4s owners here.

Michelin PS2 is available in the sizes you're looking for, but they're quite expensive. For substantially less money there are SEVERAL choices available. Sumitomo HTRZIII comes to mind.

Rich has a 95, which is a NB and you want tires for a WB , he's size tires will be 225's fronts and 265's rears , you need 225's fronts and 285's rears OR 235's fronts and 295's rears ..

Thanks for all the input. I checked on the PS2's, but they are $1,500 a set. I don't mind spending money for excellent tires, but I'm not going to pay a $400 premium over the Super Sports for an older generation Michelin. I'll probably go with the Bridgestone S04s, as they are available at my local tire dealer for about $950 installed.

I have Pilot SuperSports on my M3 and my Vantage and really wanted to get them on the 993 but ran into the same issue. I went with the Continental Extremecontact DW which is another tire that I really like and am glad I did. They're not quite up to the performance level of the PSS but they're pretty close, have good general characteristics (ride, noise, durability, wet performance, etc...) and are cheaper. They fit the character of the car well.

Have run PSS on the TT for all except first set 72K miles since new. Great tire at a much lower price than PS2.

I just picked up a set of hankook v12 245/35/18 - 295/30/18 for the 996 hollow spokes $740 shipped from tirerack. The hankooks have good reviews and great feedback from r'listers so decided to give them a try. Will get car back this week and will know more then.
