Default Leather Tequipment Handbrake - Disassembly?

I am refinishing my leather tequipment shift **** and handbrake. I removed the handbrake lever but cannot figure out how to remove the aluminum piece (PORSCHE TEXT).

Any thoughts? Or better yet, experience?

I thought it just came off with a gentle bit of prying but I could be wrong.

Yep, is is secured by adhesive. But, you need to screw off the cap and remove the shaft to remove the alum piece. Do you need pix?

I got as far as removing the cap (un-threaded it). Didn't want to pry on the outside for fear of damaging the leather or aluminum.

Pics would be great. Thanks.

Did you ever manage to remove the alloy part?
