Default Does anyone have any experience of Direct 4x4 exhaust tips?

They seem good value, has anyone purchased a set or have more photos of them please?

I ran across them while looking for tips. They seem pretty nice, and at that price point,I probably would have tried them if they had made a set for wide bodies.
Let us know if you get a set.

Organizing a group-buy with them as we speak. I will update this thread with details as they come in. If people are interested, speak up so I can have a better idea of the demand. Please note: I'm planning on purchasing a set and installing them before any group buy is finalized/initiated. Would like to have a better gauge on quality/fitment before proceeding.

According to the ad you get two pair of tips?? Seems like they're both for narrow body fitment, may require a lift kit.

That's a question I had as well, do we get 2 tips or 4 tips? Why?

Something I'll clarify with them.

What would help is if someone had the dimensions of their wide ovals for NB as well as their wide ovals for WB and compared them to what's listed on their website (below) for accuracy so that I can zero in on the correct sizes for fitment:

Length of 3 Inches (76 mm) (Shortest side).
Length of 5.3 inches (135mm) (Longest Side)
Diameter 4.9 Inches (125 mm).

Length of 2.7 Inches (70 mm) (Shortest side).
Length of 5.0 inches (127mm) (Longest Side)
Diameter 5 Inches (123 mm).

Length of 2.7 Inches (70 mm) (Shortest side).
Length of 5.0 inches (127mm) (Longest Side)
Diameter 5 Inches (123 mm).

Length of 3 Inches (78 mm) (Shortest side).
Length of 4.5 inches (114mm) (Longest Side)
Diameter 5 Inches (123 mm).

Length of 2.75 Inches (70 mm) (Shortest side).
Length of 4.75 inches (120mm) (Longest Side)
Diameter 5 Inches (123 mm).

Did you ever try these out, RealPolitik? What happened with the group buy?

Thanks!

Never did, dealing with them was like herding cats. I'll spare you the back and forth but it was going nowhere due to internal issues on their end. They just couldn't get anything done.

Was recently gifted a pair by a fellow lister (Marc) which I had ceramic coated that have kept me satiated for the time being.

Anyone else tried these? The diameter measurements seem quite large?

I bought a set of these. had them send to a guy in know in the UK and he brought them over to the Netherlands. Dealing with this firm was quite a challenge...

When i got the shipment i noticed that they send me two left ones... After some argument they did send me a second pair. But these are still in the UK waiting to get to me.

Once i have them and I actually have a right and left tip I will post some pics.

The workmanship on the tips is quite good actually.

Will update once i have them.

So you have 2 left ones in your possession? Even photos of one of those would really help. The one view they don't provide on their eBay page is directly from behind, and whether you can see the 'inner tube' or not. If you can post a few images that would be helpful.

Also with this in mind....

Do you have anything to compare the tips to? Either stock or genuine Big Ovals? IF you can post photos of this or even reply with measurements that would also help.

f1ava,

I did try one on the left side, and made photo's of the mounted tip. But for the life of me can't find the pics anymore...

They are quite big... Atleast the same size or bigger than the stock BO's

The construction is quite simple, a piece of oval pipe, one side cut straight and one cut tapered. Than a flat piece of plate welded to the straight cut end. A hole in the flat plate with a piece of pipe welded to it. This pipe is flared to fit the "olives"

When you look into them, you will see the flat plate. No inner tube...

OK , thanks. Hope you get the right hand side one soon.

Will have to wait to see photos mounted whenever you have a chance, or even unmounted with measurements.

Bigger than BOs would look silly I think , very after market.

They look OK if you paint the inside, they are the same size and shape as BO within a mm or 2.

Hi, we think alike.. I also planned to paint the insides flat black. Do you have them on the 993 now?
