muffler technique install question
I working from underneath (on jack stands) to reinstall my mufflers.
I can't seem to get enough force by pushing to get the male end of the muffler completely into the female end of the pipe that receives it.
The muffler pipe has a rounded expansion.
Any tips on getting it to seat completely?

This is how I install my muffler.
1. use the little "hook" on the side of the muffler to hook the muffer to the muffer mounting bracket.
2. pivot or rotate the muffler so the donut ring (bischoff) or rounded part of the muffler end (gillett) into the cat.
3. expand and position the muffler clamp over that muffler/cat joint.
4. wiggle the muffler a bit so the it settle into position and the clamp is in the middle of the joint.
5. also make sure the end where the exhaust tip attach to is roughly in the correct position.
6. tighten the clamp
7. tighten the muffler strap
8. install and adjust the tip.

When I took the old ones off some corrosion held them together and made me thing one had to slide over the other.
I emailed Darin at FD MS and he called me in 5 minutes - awesome (problem solved).
