Standard Door Pocket Reinforcements
Still preliminary. I met with a local 993 owner last night. We repaired both of his cracked standard door pockets as shown below with 50 mm x 70 mm x 3/16" reinforcements.

This flat piece solution will leave a 2 mm gap where the pocket meets the door card. Most of this gap will be obscured by the door pocket cover when it is opened. We left the glued parts to cure over night. I hope to get a picture of the finished product when he gets the pockets reinstalled.

50 mm x 70 mm x 3/16" reinforcement before gluing. The owner had the broken piece (red circled item on right) to fill the missing chunk above the screw. This flat piece solution will leave a 2 mm gap where the pocket meets the door card. Most of this gap will be obscured by the door pocket cover when it is opened and obviously cannot be seen when the door pocket is closed.

Here are a couple of pictures of the 993 that the owner and I installed the flat ABS reinforcements on last week.

He used a sharp utility knife to cut off the dried excess glue that gets squeezed out. I think the top edge could look better if someone spent a little time in that area with a flat file and some fine sandpaper, or perhaps even a buffing wheel.

The 2mm gap is near the hinge of the door pocket lid. This is not much of an issue in my opinion. Your call though. I can supply some thin ABS sheet that can, with cutting, shaping, and gluing, fill that gap. The gap is a little over 2mm (2mm is ~.08"), but I can only get ABS sheet in .06" (not quite thick enough, but ABS glue may fill any gap) and .12" (too thick, so would require some shaping).

Standard Door Pocket Reinforcements
I will have 10 sets of standard door pocket reinforcements available.
The kit will come with two 50mm x 70mm reinforcement pieces and 4 filler pieces (two .060" and two .120") in case you feel that you need to fill in the 2mm gap near the hinge of the door pocket lid (see post #168). If you choose to fill the gap, the filler pieces will need to be cut and shaped, and I recommend that you fill only the top 1/4" or 1/2" of it. Fill the gap first so that it is in the same plane as the rest of the area that the reinforcement mates with. Let that cure, shape it, and then glue the reinforcement piece. Use fresh/new medium black ABS cement (see post #57) as it loses its effectiveness over time.
