I don't know, but I would try the following:

translate.google.com

Enter the English word and select Italian for the translated language.

This is what I get back from Google's translator: punterie idrauliche

To verify if this is the correct translation, go to the following:

images.google.com

Enter into the search box and query to verify whether translation was correct.

but don't know if you figure it out....
so here it's the italian word:
"pasticche idrauliche"
and they are used to:" recuperare automaticamente il gioco camme-valvole"
