Default Safety Alert: Dehumidifier Recalls

Was on another forum and just discovered this information about certain brands and models of dehumidifiers being recalled. I, like so many others here, have dehumidifiers in our garages and the last thing we need is a defective one that can cause a fire! I checked mine and, fortunately, it's not on the list:

Thanks, I have one of those on the list in my basement.

Who'd have thunk I'd learn about it on rennlist.

If you happen to live in an area of the country that experiences high humidity, it can cause a detrimental effect on automobiles and parts, namely rust, mould, etc. I try to keep my garage at no more than 60-65% rel. humidity. Temp. rarely gets below 60F in Winter and no higher than 70F in Summer.

Good info. Pretty common for people around here to have these in their basements.

Passed onto the entire family...thanks.

Also, if your garage is partly below grade, it can be especially humid. No brainer as to why you'd put a dehumidifier in.
