Juha, good to hear your opinion about the CAE shifter. Interested in what you think on track.

I'll let you know but It'll be a while before my next report on that....

Worked on the brake lines tonight for a bit. The bulkhead fittings are loose because they are missing the nuts to tighten them as I didn't realise I was supposed to order them separately.
The third fitting is for the clutch.

Let's talk about fuel...how the hell do I hook up all these pumps etc.?

Here's a drawing showing the inside of the fuel cell:

So there are two scavenger pumps inside the tank, feeding the outputs (main and reserve).
How are these pumps run/controlled? all the time on?
Then I have 2pcs 044 Motorsport pressure pumps on the outside of the tank. How to run and connect these?
I'm thinking I hook up one pump to the main pickup and the other to the reserve pickup. then just join them into the main fuel line with Y-connection?
But how to run these pumps? When the main pickup runs out of fuel, do I have a function in the Motec to stop that pump (while keeping the other running that is hooked up to the reserve pickup?)

before I bite the bullet with the new wheels, I wanted to make sure I have the specs absolutely 100% correct. So I had some spacers custom made for the old wheels for fitment purposes.
It looks like both the front and rear are now spot on. Will have to put the car back on the ground and double check the alignment and ride height.

The tires on the rear wheels are 30/65/18 which is too small, I got some 31/71/18 which is the size I'm going to be running. Gotta put those on the rear wheels and move the 30/65/18 to the front.

The current 30/65/18 is too small for the rear:

Left is a 30/65/18 on a 12.5" wheel (stretched) and right is an unmounted 31/71/18:

an absolute beast, Juha! Can't wait to see the new wheels mounted. Did you, by chance, ever grab a quote for the E88s shipped to the US?

Sorry, I've been a little reluctant with regards to selling the wheels. I have ordered the centerlock stuff but I don't want to place an order for any new wheels before I am absolutely sure about the specs. It may well be that I need to do the first races with the current 5-stud wheels (with spacers) as it will take a while to get new wheels from BBS.

Not only the wheel specs though, I'm also trying to find the optimal tire sizing.

I'm trying 31/71/18 in the rear, if it's too tall I'll go with a 30/68.
The front will be either 30/65 or 27/65 depending on which rear tire I end up with.

30/65/18 is too small:

31/71/18 is quite big:

Love the tire shots!!! This is probably the toughest looking 993 I've ever seen, just a freaking truck!

I sense a Speedhunters, or some other special photo expose when this thing is done...

couple cool pics showing the rear roll bar crossing down through the rear seat and into where the subframe mounts. that is a fantastic cage.
the front splitter looks great too.

Yeah, my cage guy is a true professional. He also brought the rearmost diagonals all the way to the strut tower. There are a ton of pictures of the cage work on my website, in case anyone wants to reproduce it.

If you have followed the posts...I have actually ordered all the centerlock stuff so when I actually get the new wheels (I need a minimum of 3 sets btw), they will not even work with any spacers due to the CL.

The interior is shaping up. Actually the only parts that can be considered "interior" are the dashboard (original that is flocked) and the thin carbon panels covering the gauge holes and the lower dash area. So that is all that will be there for just the looks, everything else will have a function. It will look quite different with the white paint on there too.

Regarding fuel cell / pumps, here's what I did. One pump out of main and one on surge. they have check valve on output and go into a T. I just put switch on dash to turn reserve pump on if need be

I think that is the most logical/best way to do it Joe!
The only thing I'm worried about is that is one pump enough to feed the monster engine at full sing?

This is the popular Bosch Motorsports "044" fuel pump, as used by Japanese European & Australian tuner shops, JGTC cars, Touring cars, almost all WRC cars, and many more. Quite possibly, the most popular aftermarket fuel pump. Capable of providing 300 LPH free flow and 200 LPH at 5 bar (or 72.5 psi) for up to 685 BHP. In comparison, the Walbro GSS341 255 "high pressure" fuel pump can support 390 BHP (Note: Values calculated at 12V, 3 bar (43.5 psi) base fuel pressure, 2 bar (29 psi) boost pressure, 1:1 fuel pressure regulator ratio)

These are inline fuel pumps, we recommend they be installed between the factory (or another aftermarket) in-tank fuel pump, and the fuel rail. These may be installed in the fuel tank, but some custom fabrication will usually be required. In addition, feeding these inline pumps with another pump (in series), will boost the output of the Bosch 044 fuel pump even higher.
It's "rated" up to almost 700hp but on the other hand it says that if the pump is in series (which it will be with the pumps located inside the tank), the output will be even higher. So I'm guessing this is the best route...
