Quad:
Did that so a jacking point block sticks down about ½" below the tray. Easy to jack without removing the tray.

That patent drwg also shows complete cover with a slant up to the rear bumper, under the exhaust. It's been a while since my engine cover was on-does it extend that far back and turn up to meet the bumper?
I think we are mixing patent filings on the offense, vs what it ended up being.

Finally got around to removing mine. I just love how the engine sounds now, it makes driving the car so much more fun (that, and the Walrod bushings and Golden Rod I installed at the same time).

You guys DO realize the whole undertray thing (plus the lower valve cover shielding) comes from the 964, which is a wholly different piece than is fitted to the 993?

993 Engine Undertray
Folks,
No joke here - I'm looking for a 993 engine undertray for my '97 C2S. Appreciate if anybody has any leads on one - or two (my wrench would also like one... or several).
A caveat - I need it shipped to a Germany APO address.
Danke!

I finally took mine off. Car runs a tad cooler (in Houston), and I think it sounds better too. I left it with the shop, but I will check to see if it is still available.

Mike, I'd guess that a substantial portion of the trays ever installed on a 993 are in the great "undertray resting place in the sky". Mine's off, but it's stored away nicely.

Ed,
Looks like winter of 2017 to be back in SOCAL. Then probably settle down somewhere else. When did you move to Bend? We plan on visiting there next summer & would like to talk to you about it.
And your plans for Normandy/Stuttgart this year?
Send me a PM or email offline.
