I just had my Fabspeeds converted to stage 3 on my C4S.
Unfortunately my shop did it for me while I have been away so i have no idea how they sound and the shop stored the car away for winter until i return in June.
The Fabspeeds had way too much drone. Horrible, but they came with the car when I bought it. Something had to be done which is why i sent them to Fister.
My only options were;
1. try and sell the Fabspeeds and look for cores to send to fister for a Stage 2 or 3
2. use the Fabspeeds as the cores for a stage 3
I have been torn between stage 2 and stage 3 thus hesitant on using Fabspeeds.
I also have a C2 which has stock mufflers that I am going to do in June. Depending on how the Stage 3 sounds will determine if I go stage 2 or stage 3 on that car.
The used market for Fabspeed mufflers with tips is about $500-$700.00.
The used market for original cores would be $300-500.00
Rather then mess around selling my Fabspeeds and looking for cores/waitng on payment and shipping etc, I decided to roll the dice with my Fabspeeds and If I do not like them I could always sell them for $500-$700.00 and start over.
I am really excited to hear them! My installer said it sounds much better.

i just paid $500.00 for stock mufflers. But they are too nice to convert to Fister... Im going to keep them for concours.
Tempting to Fister Stage II them however...
If you have Maxiflos, I have to say they sound way better converted to stage III.
It is just that the tips look like chit. I had to fab new style tips on my maxiflos to make them look proper.

I did this. Maxflos were too quiet so I sent them to Darin for Fister III.
I LOVE the sound they make. Many paddock mates and instructors have said the same.
I am biased but I think my 993 is best sounding car in the paddock beating even the Cups and the RS America that often join my local PCA group. The only time I am beat in the sound department is when the Ferrari Challenge Stradale shows up.
They don't drone but they are a bit loud. After a whole day at the track plus driving 1 hour each way and back my ears sometimes ring a little.

I must say, the Maxiflos when converted to Fister III is a very unique and great sound.
Here is the old tips next to the new tips freshly fabricated to fit onto the old maxiflos.
And the finished product installed
