Default Interational shipping help-France to US

still awaiting a final price for the wheelset...but another rennlister got a quote on the same wheelset two years ago...and the shipping was 900 euro's-about $1200 in todays exchange rate. I was able to get an estimate thru my UPS account, but couldn't get an estimate on duties, taxes, or brokerage fees. I got the cost for shipment down to about $438...but how much could those extra fees be really? That's still alot of money for the shipment. Funny thing is, that same rennlister that got that price quote, eventually went with a wheel out of Germany...and the total shipping was around $200. WTF!

I spent the better part of the last two hours, working thru multiple UPS pages, multiple live chats...and couldn't get a $$ value for "landed cost"

Anyone with international shipping experience have an idea?

If I asked some rennlister "over that way" to have these wheels shipped to them, then send them here to me...would they have to pay VAT...whatever? I don't even know if the wheel manufacturer will allow a package pick up at their factory.

help

I read help, what can I do ?
There is shipping and shipping.
The most expensive is FEDEX
2nd is UPS
If you have an account at UPS is a story, if not price is 5 times more.

Cheapest, like in the US is La poste or your USPS
what are the details ? wheels are here in france @ a factory?
They should ship you VAT free, and ask for the cheapest shippiing to have an idea, or let me talk to them.

Some US folks or clients, ask automatically for UPS or FEDEX.
I remember buying a 993 part from a rennlsteer for $100 , next day he asked me for $295 for shipping.
Inquired why, he said he only ships UPS. I asked him if he could ship through USPS, he agreed, and I paid $38

If the other rennlister asked for UPS over the counter, 1200 is cheap from here lol
anything I can do, let me know

Joe, the unnamed rennlister says call DHL. Should be even less through them. That's how all of the larger shipments I get from Europe are sent. DHL has a deal with USPS and it is quite reasonable.

There are no import taxes, to tariffs, no brokerage fees, and no VAT if a package is sent directly to the US.

And geolab, I'm not surprised you chimed in

Awaiting actual pricing, their website give's wheel pricing, but no mention of custom painted center pricing, or ability to do so. So this could very easily still go to hell.

The RS Speedline replica looks very good and if I were to buy a spare it would be the one.

still trying to nail down the shipping.

Does anyone have a UPS business account(I just have a personal account), or a DHL account with a "import express number", that would be able/willing to bring these wheels into the country for me? Looking 3+ weeks out.

PM for more detail if you can assist

ordering the wheels easy, trying to get them shipped here for a reasonable price...not so much.

I'm flying back from London on 9/30. If you can get them to Heathrow, I can probably take them as carry-on.
