Yes, the PPI shop will be doing alot of the work. I will be installing Koni FSD and m033 springs, they are doing a new clutch. Alignment, Installing 4 new Summitomo tires, New bump stops in front suspension as well. Oil change, Brake flush, Fixing any leaks too. and a couple other minor things. All I can say is that the price out in the midwest is much cheaper than here on the east coast. We have some very competent shops. Exotech, EPE, to name a couple, but we do charge a lot more here in the Northeast. I will have a mechanically sound vehicle when it arrives here in RI and then all I have to do is address the rust and windshield and i may look in to the place they Ryan recommended. Most likely going to go Intercity for transport, I was considering a little road trip back in the car but it's a little too busy here at home. My wife started a local dog walking business, and it took off like crazy,who would have thought people would spend so much $ on getting their dogs walked, LOL.

Excellent, congrats!!! So did you do leakdown/compression? I'm curious about the numbers.
For 35k it's a good deal, it requires work and time and would not be for everybody, but should be worth it in the end.

Sounds good, very good, Chris. I, personally, would still drag the car here as is before any work to see what it really needs, but that's splitting heirs.

PS. My yellow cab was maintained in FL and Ohio. I have receipts. I would not say they were cheap in either place compared to Mark. Be interesting what they end up charging. Would also be curious if they are taking the engine out for clutch job. If so, I'd look at the state of the flywheel and see if I'd want to replace it, possibly with LWF. Also, it might be a good time to install Golden Rod if you are considering it.

I was considering LWF but I had it in mo 96 c4 cab and while I got used to it and could prevent the stalls, occasionally when in traffic I would get the occasional stall and I would be kind of aggravating, so if the FW is in good shape I might keep it or go with DMF. I can't say I didn't like the performance and the quick revs though, a major upgrade and more reliable part as well. I won't say the cost on here but if I had the same work done here it would have cost a couple grand more.

Chris, I thought that LFW stalling was purely a '95 thing. In either event, the DMF is too expensive. From what I hear, Andial has re-introduced the medium weight flywheel and that's what I'd go with. But only if DMF is really scored and needed replacement Otherwise I'd leave it alone.

I paid $35 Canadian for my 70K mile C4S a year and a half ago. Mine had all the major updates done like a top end rebuild, brakes, front diff and centre coupling. Most of what my car needed was suspension and cosmetic interior bits like new side bolsters on the driver seat and replaced shifter and handbrake. With all that done, plus a new stereo, I'm into it for about $5000. For what I paid and the current market, we are both in the chips

WHen I called 1800-Porsche they also gave me the options but they also stated I had the option of Porsche crests in the headrest but I don't see it on this printout. I think it was z53 code maybe? Anyways, the car isn't highly optioned but not too bad I suppose.

02' Z3 M coupe owner here (local to RI/MA) and I was wondering if the happy new owner of his 993 (or anyone else here) had a chance to check out the grey 993 in Quincy which was briefly mentioned on page 2.

Called about the car a while back [recall salesman mentioned oil gauge wasn't working otherwise "great condition"] and frankly, because it is still for sale it's cause for concern but the mileage is so attractive its hard not to find out more.

Red Flags waving or just a good car that may need some help but nevertheless a possible great buy for the right guy?

I would start a new thread and ask again if I was you. You might get more replys.

I did google the VIN and came up with a salvage history. *If true*, that is a game changer. It can still be a great car to own and enjoy, as cars can be salvaged for different reasons. But only as long as buyer is comfortable with the reason and the price, as compared with a non salvaged car.

Well thanks to you, i don't have to start a thread. Called them a while back w/ that suspicion and they told me the title was clean. Then again, I've also learned many people who have purchased a vehicle from there had regrets doing so. Looks like a car to stay away from at that price.
