I went and triple checked the following vin, which you said was bad (even took a picture of the door sticker, which matches the tag inside the windshield)

WP0AA0916BS121149

Can you offer any explanation of what's going on? It's a 1981 SC and I want to find out more about it before I make an offer. There is no sticker under the hood like on my 993: where else might I look?

Sorry, I dont know! It used to work for all 1980 on cars, I just rechecked a 1984 car and it worked, maybe Porsche have pulled the plug on real early stuff?
