Default Rear sway bar

OK.. I have a 97 NB C2 and have my hands on a set of sway bars for a turbo.. will the rear sway bar fit on my car (I was told the front was the same) and is it worth changing the rear sway bar while i'm putting on my (new to me) PSS9's...

thanks,
Chad

Smile On my 97 NB car.,

I installed a Mo30 RoW "Euro" 993 Turbo 21mm rear bar. The fit was fine...just look under your car on a lift for an "eye-ball" confirmation. I was installing with a M030 RoW factory suspension with struts and shocks coming directly off a 993 Turbo car. I believe we used the Turbo front springs, but not the rears as they were too short.

For the front I used M030 RoW 22mm bar. I can't recall why I didn't use the Turbo front bar.

The work was done at ANDIAL in Santa Ana, now their shop is closed, sad to see, sad to say.

Using all Porsche parts I could use factory drop links, a plus as they were plentiful and cheap, and they never broke.

all the sway bars are interchangeable front to front and rear to rear.

US
stock 20/17 inc S/4S
M030 22/20
S/4S M030 20/18
turbo US 22/19

RoW
21/18
M030 22/20
S/4S 20/18
S/4S M030 22/20
turbo 22/21

changing just the rear bar on a '97 from 17 to 19 reduces under steer a bit

changing both f/r to 22/19 increases u/s a tiny bit the and will reduce sway

Mine had M030 when I bought it, it was nice for street use.

Absolutely worth changing the rear sway bar! And if you can find the 21mm rear bar, grab it (even if you already have the 20mm installed ...it'sa quick DIY swap). The balance it brings (in further reducing understeer) is worth every penny, IMHO. FWIW, I have had PSS9s and a 22mm/21mm sways on my 993 daily-driven for yeeeeaaars now and love the neutral and very planted feel/handling.

RoW turbo bars on my 96 NB. Love the way it feels with M030/HDs
