Low speed clunking/knocking after PSS9 Install
After installing my PSS9s into my 993TT I am hearing what I can only describe as clunking and knocking from the driver side front wheel area at low speeds. No feel or vibration, just a sound when turning and straightening out. Any easy ideas to help troubleshoot?

I would check that the spring is properly seated in its perch, if not it can make a clunking sound, mainly at low speeds. I have heard a few like this, and not only in Porsches.
Did you tighten all the associated mounts, strut top etc?

Since you did not experience the issue after the suspension install, but after the alignment; would you surmise its an alignment issue?
Is it too late to take it back to who ever performed the alignment for troubleshooting?

I've been hunting that forever. It seems what might be happening is the spring just slightly spins and then sort of snaps back. Someone suggested trying to wrap the top in a plastic coil like the wire coils for managing stereo cables.
I couldn't retrofit that, so I've managed to wedge some in on one side of the coil. But that was just before winter storage. Seemed to stop, but hard to tell as it always took about 30 min before the sound would start.

I'm sure I could take it back, it was just done earlier this month and I have only put about 100 miles on it since. My problem would be getting the car over to the shop during the week to have them look at it. If it continues to be a problem I will probably have to do that though.

This is just a theory but if you lowered the car even slightly the change in angle for the CV joints
could signal time for service on the front CV's.
Usually when turning the joints can make a clunk or popping sounds depending upon wear..just a
hunch, Bert

For mine I actually hooked up my gopro camera to the shocks and went for drives...it was pretty clearly the top of the springs, the top of the helper spring to be exact.
Helped the diagnosis immensely. Can't wait for spring and a long drive to test it out.
