My first experience w/the vagaries of the oil level gauge

Ah, success. Filled up the tank with oil, and the little guy did as he should and floated to the top. Using a bent wire and my finger, was able to wiggle it through the opening an voila.

And those who care, it takes about 6-1/2 qts to fill to the bottom of the level gauge mounting hole.

Question for Mike or others - I realized that I measured the resistance of the level sensor while it was attached to the oil gauge. Would that affect the resistance measurement?

I find it hard to believe that a variable resistor would show less resistance than designed for.
