Wouldn't hurt. I never did mine because it looked hard to get to, plus I suspect the problem might not be the switch (which does open and close) but the mechanism actuating it. That's big $ and a lot more work, so I just put it off. Besides, a simple mod to the IMMO BLOCK will provide the required bypass, so I may go that route. I don't anticipate having to program more FOBs but it would be nice to be able to do the emergency start procedure.

Jay…I have Immo Block installed and will be buying/programming a new fob in near future. Can this be done with IB installed or should I reinstall the gong relay? Thx.

Yes, the procedure in your owner's manual will work with IB installed. The gong relay isn't needed for that.

Just a follow-up that it was in fact the stupid $.10 white plastic "Buzzer Contact Ignition Lock" that was my issue. Hopefully this helps someone else!

The most common problem for not being able to code 993 remotes!

Nice work. How hard was it to replace the buzzer switch?
