I contacted Becker Audio to find out about getting a ipod connection to use instead of the cd changer with this stereo, but they say that Becker did not make that stereo. It is in my 95. Any ideas who makes this radio? I won't to get an ipod connection without changing out the stereo. Thanks

You might be able to find a DICE unit for a blapunkt that works, the jacks on the back are standard blaupunkt pinouts from what I remember. They work well with the iPod but not the iPhone 4.

Speedbump, is DICE the name of an audio company or the name of a jack that would work?

I am so sorry, I brought my Audi stuff into the Porsche forum. Dension Ice Link Plus, not made anymore but they pop up on eBay from time to time. I might have one in my garage but since I killed my back at the office today I can't get the ladder out to check up on the shelf where all the stereo stuff is. I see a box up there but not sure if it has one in it or not. Hopefully my back will be better tomorrow, I am about to pop a couple of muscle relaxers so we'll see how it goes.

According to the people at La Jolla (CA) Audio, the CR1 was made by Alpine. And they say they can add an iPod hookup for around $200. I just bought my 1995 Carrera 4 and am having it done.

If you search my posts I made a quick conversion for my '96 993 stereo cd changer. It is basically just RCA plugs going into the cd changer with the other end plugging into my iPod earphone connector. It doesn't charge the iPod or phone but works gr8 & with anything that has an earphone connector. Very cheap & easy to do. You lose your ability to play CD's but mine are all on my iPod anyway. I charge with the cig lighter. If u can't find the link, message me & I will get it for you & give u my cell # & tell u how to do it. If u are close, I can help u.

Ehanauer, I think you are right that it is an Alpine. The guy I talked to a Becker said it was an Alpine as well. I will call La Jolla Audio and ask them what kind of connection they have. That is good to know. i will also look up the info you gave Priceless or send you a pm if i need more info. Thanks guys.
I did talk to the guys at Dice audio and they have this unit that is basically a FM modulator that is connected directly to the radio antenna. They say you don't get any static with this. I think they said it would be about $125 or something like that.
