a La "Cobra in the barn"! Wow! Welcome aboard and best of Luck! Take your time and don't rush it. Once you know you've got a healthy drivetrain, the rest is cosmetic.

Cool story! Keep us posted and take million photos of the process, or better yet, contact Excellence and have them make a story out of it, i think it would be interesting.
As already said, change oil & filter and fuel & filter and then crank it with DME off to build oil pressure.
I'd also squirt some oil into the cylinders before the start.
Once you start if for the 1st time, make sure to record it with video so we can all see, it's always interesting to see something like this.

if parked outside, stuff I will check
1 - remove both headlights inspect under the headlight rails for any rust, change the headlight seals
2 - open front lid and vacuum out any leaves between the front hood seal and the windshield. If heavy marks and stains persist, re-close the trunk, and power wash the groove whilst lid closed. you can power wash all the groove that surrounds the front lid
3 - remove by gently pulling the front windshield seal from lower left and lower right windshield corners, inspect for rust, change the seal.
6- as step 3 but on rear windscreen
4 - whenever you can, remove inside door panels, and check inside the door for any rust, the felt that protects the window is not 100 % sealed
5 - check sunroof felt, if mould is inside, power wash, soak in WD40 and re-power wash. 4 + times needed sometimes.
7 - inside engine cold aux air snorkel. unbolt the two screws holding it, and wash (empty) it outside of the engine bay
vacuum engine and do not power wash first, engine is almost sealed, and most debris will stay after

If the price was right, I would have done the same thing.
3 hours with a porter cable or flex polisher and some decent compound and that thing will look much better already.
