Hi guys, anyone have any issues with the basic porsche charge-o-mat plugging into their cigarette lighter? Is there a fitment issue that requires the alligator clips directly connected to the battery?

My battery tender plugs in just fine. Has worked well for the last three years.

Mine works perfectly via the cigar lighter socket.

Mine also has worked just fine for three years from the cigarette lighter.

I'm sure that you are aware it all depends if the cig lighter is hot when car is shut off...my 75 911S would not work in the cig lighter but my Boxster works that way just fine. It would have been simple to wire the lighter in the 75 car but I didn't want to bother, besides I have sold it anyway.
