Sam, where'd you buy this and for how much, if you don't mind?

Looks like a plug and play fit for the 993?

goofballdeluxe,

I purchased the dial from porschedials.com - cant remember what I paid. I think around 125.00 then sent the clock and the dial to North Hollywood Speedometer and Clock because of the repair and then they installed the face.

Sorry, a bit too poser for me. Why would one want a fake Tag dial in a Porsche?

$31 -- that's more like it.

As the chrono doesn't work, what's the point?

Agreed. Stationary sub-dials are pointless.

and PS, heuer was a very respectable watch manufacturer until the fashion brand tag merged with them and produced the questionable pieces they make today.

Ehhh, apart from the chrono functions not working, it's no more poser to me than carbon fiber trim.

While they may be a "fashion brand" as far as watches are concerned, they do have a fairly rich motorsports history, with ties to McLaren, Porsche, Lauda, Prost, etc.

Carbon trim would be a design treatment based on personal taste. Putting a phony clock face on is like wearing a phony Rolex, IMO. What's next? Stenciling "Speedline" on knockoff wheels?

We all know that carbon fiber is used in performance cars for its strength and lightweight properties. In the 993 it's just decoration. That's what I was drawing the comparison to.

Putting "Heuer" on the clock face is no different to me than longhood guys putting a Mobil pegasus sticker on their fender. Just a nod to the lineage. I doubt anyone would ever mistake the 993 clock for an authentic Heuer clock.
