Default Need a fender roll vender recommend in Fairfield County CT area

Hi guys.. I know I can do this myself and have read up on the subject last night.

I may get up the nerve to buy a bat, a heat gun and do it over the holiday weekend.

In case I change my mind, I was wondering if anyone in the Fairfield County, CT area ( I'm in Westport/Easton) could recommend a good vendor/body shop/ performance shop that could help me.

thx in advance.

A tapered maple rolling pin works even better, IMHO, than a bat. It's not as scary to do as you may think.

James - some car forums have a fender rolling tool that they pass around and rent. it's similar to the Techart and Eastwood tools. The tool bolts onto the hub and you run it back and forth along the fenders until it begins to crease, then tighten the tool and repeat. I remember that some guys on the Audi forum had one that they were passing around. I'm actually surprised no one here has done it as I know there is a decent amount of interest in rolling fenders....I know the Audi guys charged $50 to rent the tool and a heat gun for 3-4 days plus a security deposit....which is more than a fair price I think. Somebody here should do this...it would be a benefit to a number of people and he'd break even after about 8-10 rentals.

(btw I just replied to your PM...good luck)

David - Thx for the reply and your PM. I might just be that guy who buys the tool and then rents it out.

I am going to try with the bat this weekend. The only problem is that some folks i spoke with feel that rolling the fenders might not fix the problem as the tire is rubbing in the tread and not the sidewall.

Here are some pics to show the rub and the line the inner fender is making in the rubber.

Think a good roll will fix this?
