Back on topic - yes, I saw this beautiful blue car at the 356 west coast holiday in tahoe. I never saw the owner so couldn't talk to him about it. the houndstooth was on the door panels and rear interior behind rear seats. seats were all grey leather. window vin was covered with an oil change sticker so couldn't figure out year. it did have euro side markers on the front fenders so maybe an import or an early '94? not sure. car had 59k miles on the clock and was flawless. calif plates i believe. i'm sure there's some sort of cool history to the car. and sorry, didn't take any pix -- too many 356's to enjoy!

Ok, I like it at least. A lot. A stupid amount of lot.
Anybody know this car? A buddy of mine saw this car on his way back from the 356 event in Tahoe the past weekend. He supposedly ran up to the car as the guy was driving away to talk to him and take pictures (my buddy writes for sports car market and sometimes excellence). The picture is of the door panel of a model year 1993 (yes, not a typo) US registered 993 with riviera blue over deviating (AND factory) HOUNDSTOOTH interior. Supposedly a PCNA show car in 1994 at Lake Placid. Anybody know the owner because this may be my dream car.

This is a very cool Riviera 993 but I think the title of "coolest Riviera blue 993 in existance" is actually shared by Rob's and Bill's cars.

RIP.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread... but this car was totaled a few weeks ago and I'm kinda sad about it as I always thought I would get a chance to buy it back. Back when this thread was active it was my car... but I wasn't paying attention to Rennlist at the time. I sold it several years ago and bought a perfect 84 Carrera coupe and a 993TT(thankfully before the run up) . This Riviera 993 was indeed the Lake Placid show car at the 993 debut. it was an almost perfect car when I owned it! It was built in December of 1993.
I added the houndstooth panels... they were not factory. The sidemarkers were original... the VIN was WPOAA2996SS320087 Not sure if this means the 87th car... or not. Sad.
