well, after months of warm weather....
this issue only happens (to me) in the winter, circa <40deg.F

have the same sound . its not my roller or alt and just put in rs pully

on my 964 it was the belt tensioner, and the first two years it only happend in winter and later more often, now i changed it and it's gone.

After the original posting of this topic back in January, I discovered that my PS fluid was low. I filled the resevoir and havn't heard the sound again, even in the cold weather.

Check to see if the noise is coming from this flapper valve
