Default New Wheels from Essen Show

I just got back from the Essen Motor Show. It is kind of like the SEMA show, with that same testosterone loaded atmosphere, and lots of cars that have been assaulted in various horrible ways, like this:

And this:

BUT, I found these wheels on a nice silver 964RS:

They are 3 pc., 17, 18, 19 inch, German made wheels with forged centers. I really dig the updated Fuchs look. They are from Kerscher, who I have never heard of, but the guy at the stand says they have been making wheels for 20 years. (There are no pics or specs for the FX1 wheels on the site yet.) I didn't ask about pricing, but I expect that they'll be in the same range as other 3-pc. wheels out there. They said powder coating is available in various colors, and I expect they can be painted, too. I am going to check prices next week, and will update this post. No affiliation.

A shot from their brochure:

EDIT: More pics are here, at the Weinkath Carwheels site. They are one of the dealers listed on the Brochure I grabbed.

I personally always go with stock looks, but man they look sweet!
Real tribute to the originals!

Let me know when you get the pricing on those fuch replicas. I love the look. HRE does them in 17", I want them larger!

I really like those. A modern turn which still respects the original.

Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to dissent. Those rims are fugly. They'll fit in if you're cruising Miami Beach with some purple neon lights under your car, but otherwise...

I don't like them either....I dislike a busy wheel and all the bolts do not do it for me. However, as we all know, all this stuff is definitely personal choice...

Cheers,

MIke

If only they didn't have all that hardware on 'em..... Just a clean face and rim, and those would have found their way onto my car.

The only time I've ever been to Essen was in Dec. 1985 for the Heavy Metal Christmas Concert -- wonder if they still have those?

I think I like 'em. Would like to see more photos, preferably 18s on a lowered NB 993. Kerskin (sp?) has been around a long time, they are a favorite for many on the BMW sites. Sure to be very expensive.

Interesting concept. But I think they suit the 3.2 or SC with a hotrod look better than on a 993.

huh. . .
hmm . . .
not sure yet. . . I like the concept—I think— but 'Im not sure I like the implementation
they seem to work best on the 964, but something bugs me, like the radius of the spokes isn't right, the five spokes seem to be too sharp edged.
