Default 993 airbox removal, help !

I am renewing the gaskets on my 993 and I am having trouble getting the 1996 C4S air box off. I see the obvious front bolt but where is the other bolt(s) ?

Also, I have a new clutch kit and new flywheel, can I get away without installing the new flywheel ? It slips on hills and when I try to pass someone. Slight clutch burn smell.

Stock Porsche wire set is $800 and for $500 I can get the Beru, they are the same right ?

Thanks, Patrick

Yes..Beru is stock. Try this site (no affiliation etc, etc) for plug wires (and everything else too...Prices are very likeable!)

I recall two airbox clips, both in front (well, really towards the rear of the car, but front from the perspective of facing the airbox) one on the top and one on the bottom, and just a 'hook' thing at the rear that disconnects by sliding the cover back once the clips are undone.

Default Thanks Matt + Troy

Thanks, wish I knew about them before I ordered my 993 spark plug wire set.

I got the air box cover off fine Troy but the larger piece I too need off to better access the leaking PS pump hoses and the rear upper spark plug area.

Many thanks,

Patrick

I can suggest P-Car.com. Robin's sight is a wealth of information.
Take a look here for help with the airbox removal.

Thanks Blue and Dudley ! Now I will have total access to the PS pump hoses.
The PS pump leaks at the hose and I got stuck somewhere and all they had was regular PS fluid. Do you think I should drain the whole PS pump and steering rack of that fluid before I add the Porsche PS fluid which I think is different than regular PS gas station fluid ?

Many thanks
Patrick

I just did this yesterday to change the hood shocks and fuel filter.

I followed the fuel filter DIY from Robin's site (thanks Bret!). Locating the screw on the hose clamp for the MAF is a bugger! Also, my screw was slotted - not a phillips head as indicated in Bret's writeup.

I was wondering if maybe I should replace the suspension shocks/springs at this point ? It's a C4S '96.

Thanks,

Patrick

I tried to get my 1996 C4S airbox off using the pictures at
http://p-car.com/diy/conefilter
BUT...that was a 1995 and the '96 airbox is different (of course).

I see the abvious 993 airbox front bolt but what else it hanging up it's romoval ? I have the cone off and the front hose but it still is rigid and won't come off !

Thanks,

Patrick

PS: I need it off to access the PS leak area and change my plug wires.
