Finding room to place jack stands

Finding room to place jack stands
this may be a "stupid question" but I havent been able to find a good answer
in the archives.
1) My 993 has been lowered.
2) I have a hydraulic jack and also the stock factory jack.
3) Because the car is so low, if I jack under the engine, the hydraulic jack does not lift the car high enough to place jack stands at the proper jack stand points
(in front of rear wheels on side...see picture below)
4) If I jack the car by the jack stand points.... there is not enough room
to slide jack stands in because the Jack is in the way.
5) How do you guys do it?
In photo above...jack stands are in proper position... my problem is that if
I jack the car in this area, there is no room to slide the jack stands into this
proper position because the jack is in the way... thoughts? thanks

Use some wood planks under the jack, if you don't have clearance, drive the car up on them as well. This will give you an extra inch. Sounds like you need a jack that has a higher lift capability.

Are you just trying to put the rears on jack stand? That's might be your problem the angles are too much when the fronts are not lifted up. You might want to put the fronts on jack stands first and then the rear.

I did jack up the car under the engine, put wood under the tires, let it back down, put wood under the jack and jack it up again to get the AC jack stands under it.
Got sick of doing that. So I bought the AFF 200T last week. Min saddle height of 2-3/4 to max height of 20 inches. No problem now!

I agree that you simply need a jack with higher lift. My car is so low (about RS) that I can barely even get a racing jack under it, but it still lifts high enough that I can VERY easily get jack stands (like yours) in the proper position just fore of the rear wheels.

^^ Excellent point! If you are just jacking the rear, by the time you get enough clearance, you'll be resting on the chin!!
Put the front-end up, then the rear, and you won't have any further problems.

I put my jack on the front jack point and it lifts the entire side of the car off the ground, then I just place a jack stand on the rear jack point and drop the front back to to the ground. I repeat the same for the other side. Reverse if lifting the front instead of the rear. These cars are stiff, even in Cab form.
