C4S stainless door sills
Hi all,
I've read posts where OEM Porsche 993 'Carerra 4S' stainless steel door sills have not been available for quite some time... Porsche part number 993-551-980-05.
Do these come up for sale or on e-bay from time to time, or am I just out of luck now?

Derek,
Do a search, alot of us bought the sills from Harvey - he sells on e-bay and will put whatever you want on them. If no luck, PM me and I'll go look for a receipt.

i just bought a pair and installed them. Harvey is very responsive and the sills arrived in a couple of days after completing the ebay buy. the quality is very good and the fit is excellent. good instructions included. have fun removing the old adhesive. took me using WD40, some 3M adhesive remover, lots of scraping with a stiff piece of plastic and patience

Excellent quality.
Planning to install this weekend. Seems my plastic sills are stuck on good, is there an easy way to remove them?

Just did mine recently. it takes a heat gun to loosen the PVC door sill strip so you can peel it off. Gets rather hot to peel so be careful. Ask me how I know. The difficult part is the removal of the two dbl. sided adhesive strips remaining on the sill. Best bet is to get an "eraser wheel" that attaches to a drill or air tool that will cut the strip but not damage the paint. The inner adhesive strip near the rubber weatherstrip is more difficult as the eraser wheel does not want to contact the rubber strip. Intensive soaking with Goo-Gone or other may loosen the stuff up so you can very carefully scrape it off. Alcohol didn't work for me at all. This part is very time consuming…….

I used a xylene-based 3M product simliar to GooGone, a plastic putty knife, and a towel to get mine off. Needs a lot of elbow grease, but at least for mine the adhesive was not terrible to remove before installing my Rennline plain SS sills.

Hey guys, what do these go for price-wise? I searched through eBay, nothing there presently (short of original Ruf ones for $500). Keith in the UK makes these himself? Are these illuminated by any chance (seems that way from the shading of the script).
I love the original ones sold by Gert @ Carnewal, but over Euro 400 is pretty steep. TIA

What color is the script? It looks a little blue in the picture. Mind me asking how much those run?

The blue is a clear film protective covering that is removed at installation.
These accessories are quite expensive from Porsche, thru dealers, with a list of $899.00 (SunCoast), or $538.00 (Carnwell). There may be other outside vendors with aftermarket styles at a lesser price. Some members here may have a source.
Rennlisters or PCA members may get a discount……….
