X97 Aluminium/leather shift ****

X98 Aluminium/leather parking break handle

235 Porsche approved tyres Bridgestone N2 or Pirelli N2

446 Parts for type "Targa" belonging to stipulated assembly
446 996: Colored Wheel Crests

can't help with the others, to be honest I don't think they are option codes at all.

Try this option decoder

All the best David

9991 is from the exclusive programme. Means the car was specially ordered from Porsche with an option that was not available in the catalog - something like unique color combo interior or wing or something....

There is another post with 2 of the same codes - 00051 & 16981. Interesting to hear what they may be. Other post is HERE

Hey! I'll take the X97 and X98 please, ship them to this address...
N2 indicates 17" tires according to the Tirerack.

00051 is the most beautiful option code you could see on a carrera S sticker.

this option is the famous X51 engine code.
this means the engine is the 3.8 litres 220 kw, same short engine as the 993 RS.
RARE option, thus value is higher.

I hope you are not a salesman (suitman) and use the info to higher the price,
I hope a lucky RLister gets this one.

Agreed! A lucky buyer who just discovered this would feel like their dog just
dug up Blackbeard's treasure in their own backyard. I can only imagine...

Well, I am the proud owner of the other 993 with option codes 00051 & 16981 and will need some additional help decoding. My car is a 1995 Euro delivery and I would be amazed and delighted to find the X51 package as a early Christmas gift! However, I am Very sceptical at this point...

Please see the referenced thread for details and a photo of my owners manual with the code listing. Any thoughts from Rennlist experts? Thanks!

I do not understand your scepticism.

I am giving you the info you're long asking for, and you say you're Very sceptical? very encouraging

well, I am not taking it personal
option 00051 on 993 cars is option X51 standing for 3.8 litre 220 kw engine power kit.
the same code was also used on the 996 and the 997's for engine power kits.

there is one way to certify this without the dealer's VAUDIA intranet and the sticker,
but hey, lets wait for the experts

Thanks for the code information and no offense intended

I would be delighted to find that I had been sitting on this rare 20 HP option - is there any way to verify based on the exterior view of the engine?

No you cannot, the problem is that even if you pay the $12000 option afterwards, you will not have 00051 on the sticker nor anywhere.
But, porsche can know through VIN on VAUDIA intranet that the engine was upgraded,
OR, you can check through a porsche PST2, the engine block serial, and check the number on a PET software.

as for your second code 16981,

do you have leather interior apart from the seats?

I don't think you could get a 3.8L engine as an option in the U.S. I've certainly never heard of it. My former 993 had this 00051 option, and it definitely did not have a 3.8L engine. The cert of auth surely would have said so.

GeoLab, regarding your question on the second code 16981, I do not have a full leather interior apart from the seats. See attached...
