Default 97 993 S Spark Plug Replacement Problem

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and I am trying to replace my spark plugs for the first time, and I have encountered a problem. I am having problem inserting the spark plug socket into the 1st spark plug (from the rear of the car)on the top left bank, once I pulled out the spark plug connector, the hole seems to be restrictive, I can't really see due to the tight space, I can insert the connector, but I can only insert about 1/2 of the spark plug socket, am I doing anything wrong?

Please help

You should have a sparkplug wrench in your Porsche supplied toolkit which will help you greatly. Some normal sockets are too thick for the Porsche spark plug holes.

If you continue to struggle with it, you can always take this opportunity to replace your upper valve cover gaskets like I did. After the valve cover is removed, accessing the spark plugs is a piece of cake. Of course, you'll need new gaskets.

jps993-

Welcome to the forum. I can't help you with your problem, but hope you are using Robin's DIY on plug replacement as a general guide. It points out highlights and problems to avoid while doing this...

Good luck!
