Default Supercup muffler inserts

I went with Car Chemistry inserts because Ken was so helpful. Supertrap is another choice, but I had a hard time sorting out what might fit.

Perfect size for supercups is the 3.5" 2 disc insert. Price @ $125 for the pair.

These have done a nice job taking the edge off the supercups. If you're looking to cut the noise juuuust a bit and be less of an obvious noise violation target, these are da bomb.

Right now I just have them tacked in with a zip tie via the 2 holes in the end of the Supercups - the inner disc lines up perfectly for retention via those holes. A better and easily reversible solution will be to tap the 2 holes to allow the use of threaded machine bolts. Maybe next week .

Sweet, Matt, thanks for the post. How much did the CC's quell the sound?

Waiting for mine to come . . .

Mark,

I just took the car for a spin, and let's just say it's gone from obnoxious to loud but reasonable. I'm pleasantly surprised. If I get some time later this week, I'll take some drive by video both with & without the inserts.

Thanks! Sounds perfect for draconian sound regs.

Matt:

Very nice. How do you plan to secure them? Anxiously awaiting the sound clips. This may be a nice peace offering to my neighbors.

Are these fitted to first gen or the recent Supercups with the fixed internal baffles. Wonder if they'd fit the latest versions...

Matt,

By the way, if you plan on entering your car in a concours, I should let you know that you missed a spot on one of your Supercups . . .

Still happy with the inserts. I need to order something. My 1995 has catbypass and supercups (it's a track only car) and I got compliants at the track from guys in my run group on how loud it is. I went with supercups for a weight reduction, but without something to mediate the sound they won't stay.

On another note where did you get the carbon fiber stuff???

Jeff
