Turbo S Air Duct question...
Do these ducts make a significant improvement in air flow to the oil cooler or AC? Or, are they best used to route hoses to the brakes? Also, do these replace the stock bumerperettes up front? Thanks alot.

I'm sure more knowledgable folks will respond too, but I can say that on my car the ducts made a slight but noticeable difference in oil cooling. IIRC the consensus is that they are not the best choice for brake cooling due to limited flow and the necessity for complicated ducting. They fit on cars with bumperettes, they do not replace the bumperettes.

Would the cooling (oil and a/c) be further improved if I ran ducting from the turbo s ducts to the A/C and Oil locations?
I had purchased some ducting to run to the brakes, but if there's more benefit to run it to the a/c and oil cooler, then I'll do that instead.
thanks!

I have been wondering the same thing. Would you guys recommend these. Do they come pre painted or do I need to paint them myself? Where is the best place to get them? Easy to install?
thanks,

Got mine from BW motorsports. I believe BW makes them for MA Shaw. The price was a bit cheaper as well. Mine are currently being modifyied by Jay Putnam Engineering to provide maximum air flow for the twin oil coolers they are installing.

Extensively covered in prior threads, e.g.

The BW units are also sold by MA Shaw (Mike 714.730.6917). I think pricing from either source is the same. I bought mine from Mike Shaw who kindly gave a Rennlist discount. The fogs use a fixed mount w/o any adjustment ability. One of mine was aimed too low. Brad/Mike were responsive to the problem & were more than willing to exchange it, but it was already painted & not worth the bother of a return since I was able to do a bit of Dremel work to reaim it. Based on that experience, I suggest checking aim before prep & painting. BTW, as with most any fiberglass part, it will need some finishing work before it's painted. Otherwise, it's a perfect fit & yields a functional "real" fog light.
Rewiring is straight forward. I taped off & wire tied the oem parking light wires out of the way since they're no longer needed. The oem fog light wires are just spliced to the new unit's wires after cutting off the oem connector. Apart from the look, I seem to experience better oil cooler function at speed, although I note no change in AC performance. [Edit: after a few high air temp DEs I can report the duct yields a noticeable drop in oil temps as a result of, I assume, better airflow through the cooler].

Good eye, yes, just to oil cooler and a/c condenser. Without the ducting, the ducts looked incomplete so I ordered a short length of air hose for both sides to channel the air to some theoretical useful purpose.

Ah yes, the overlooked area that's prone to overheat: the theoretical useful purpose
...& good attention to detail on your part, putting in the extra effort for a more finished-looking result.
Well done
