How do I reset the airbag light?
My driver airbag deployed during the wreck in September. A new airbag has been fitted, but the Porsche race shop folks did not how to turn off the flashing airbag warning light on the dash. They don't have to deal with airbags on the Cup cars, 993 GT2's, and other race machines they typically work on.
Does it require a trip to the dealer, or could I do it using some sort of OBD device or some simple routine? I tried a search without any luck.
Appreciate the help!

You have to use the Porsche PST2 tester. Any shop working on late model 911's should have one. I haven't got the manual to hand, but I beleive that you have to change something else to comply with Porsche repair standard on air bag deployment. The bar code from the new air bag box has to be stuck in the warranty book too.

Hi Doc:
PST-2 is the answer, here. Its a Dealer or shop operation.
Generic scan tools do not address the Porsche-specific codes & issues and unhooking the battery doesn't help at all.

Steve, as always, I appreciate your assistance and expertise.
Skip, I didn't realize how much I missed my car. It's like a good friend has returned home. Unfortunately, humpty dumpty is already itching to get back on the track. It's as if the recent 6-months-without-a-street-car and the $49K bill to State Farm never happened. Hope you're enjoying your new home!
