Original sticker price?

Popped into Porsche dealers (Sunny Sacramento) to get my 4 digit unlock code (96 C4s), he pulled the original info up and the sticker price was $81k (assume includes tax and reg fees)

You are right, I mistyped above. The base price on the Carrera 4S was $73,000. Sorry about that.

folks, i'm still amazed at how well the aircooled 911s hold their value. the original asking prices in 1990s money was still exorbitant, but the S models, for example, are amazing values then and now.

FWIW, adjusted for cost of living to 2002 dollars (rounded):
1995 Carrera @ $59,900 MSRP = $70,500 (1.17717 conversion factor '95-'02)
1996 C4S @ $73,000 MSRP = $83,500 (1.1434 conversion factor '96-'02)
... and Phil's 98 C4S rolls in at $96,325 w/COLA !!!
I find it interesting that both 993 base MSRPs w/COLA were almost $2k more than the base MSRPs for equivalent 2002 996 models.

We bought ours a few weeks ago, and it came with original window sticker.
Our 1997 C2 cab had the $73k base price. Factory installed options and accessories bumped it to a ridiculous $87,847.00. A $765 destination charge brought the total to $88,612. Porsche options are not a bargain.

I called PCNA. They told me they oculdn't look up a sticker price based on the VIN. The did offer to sell me the "birth certificate." Unfortunately, they have apparently raised the price of the certificate to $95 from the $45 currently advertised in Excellence magazine. Sorry, but the curiousity just isn't worth $95 to me.

I gave the guy the model year, build date, and option codes -- he told me the base price and the price of each option. Maybe they don't do it anymore. I'd try calling back -- maybe you'll get someone more helpful on the line.

i was wondering if any of you could help me out with an original sticker price general estimate for a typically equiped 1995 993 Carrera 2 with manual transmission.
i was doing this cost to own estimate for a 15 year period of a typical 1995 993 vs a 968 with a few "upscale" options that would bring the car to an equally equipped 993....
my post from the 944 forums. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

please inform me if i'm off on this estimate about a 1995 993 vs an equally well equipped 1995 968....
buy the 993 for $70 K and drive it 85 k miles. sell it for $38 k now. (add about $6 k for maintenance).... buy 968 coupe (base price $43 k) and 3 options; limited slip, all leather interior and 993 seats (the all-leather seat option) = $52 k (ests)... drive it 85 k miles. sell it for $14 K. (add about $8 k for maintenance)....
cost to own 1995 993 and drive 85 k miles = $38 k
cost to own 1995 968 and drive 85 k miles = $46 k
did i miss something ?
i'm even being generous because i'm using a 911 cabriolet, and that's probably a couple grand more than a typical coupe.

968 price source; general knowledge.

I have the original sticker for my June 95 993 Carrera 4 --- $78,946.00 plus $4,995.00 for 18" Speedline 3-piece wheels and Z-rated tires - from the Porsche dealer in Houston.
