Default Does New Panamera Key Case fit 991 key

The new key case has a big advantage which is you can use the buttons without pulling out the key. Plus it has a key ring on it.

The key shape looks a little different to the 991 key. Does anyone know if this will fit?

That is definitely a superior design to the leather key pouch for the 991.

I don't get it. What is the purpose of leather pouch in either case?

I think it's great if you have the Porsche Entry and Drive option. The pouch protects the key from damage, and you virtually never have to remove the key from the pouch. The updated Panamera pouch gives you access to the buttons if and when you need them.

If if you don't have the Entry and Drive option, then the pouch would be a bit inconvenient.

Really? I'd think the added bulk would be irritating in the jeans pocket. It's one thing to obsess over the paint, with the plastic wrap, etc. but protecting the key?

With my first car on the way, I guess I have a lot to learn. Maybe not though. My neighbor just took delivery of his umpteenth 911 and like all the rest, I saw him driving down the street last week in snow, salt, sand, etc., without a care in the world.

I think I'll follow his lead. Three years and I'm on to the next one and if a few stone chips and scratches along with a scratched key costs me several thousand, so be it.

I have the painted keys and they can be easily scratched by other keys and even my cellphone in my pocket. I have had to replace the painted key blades twice. Since I got the leather case it is a non issue. Plus the case looks and feels great.

I have entry and drive, but I find it very hard to open the frunk without using the key or the lever. You can theoretically place your hand on the hood to the left of the Porsche logo and the frunk should open, but it works 10% of time for me.

I can get into the frunk with a wave of my hand but only if chanting "I am one with the force, the force is with me" over and over again...

Hand on the bumper, to the left of logo, not on the trunk lid itself. Works 100% of time for me. Although if you have your cell next to your keys, it can interfere with the keyless signal.

Hand on the bumper, directly below the crest. Hold there for 3-4 seconds and presto, it opens 100% of the time.

My money's on 'interchangeable.' But eagerly awaiting confirmation from a fellow RL member.

I drive mine in all conditions too, and it has plenty of stone chips.

The key will get pretty scratched in you pocket, especially if it's on a key ring with other keys.

I have no issue opening the bonnet. My bigger issue is when I forget that the key is in my pocket and it keeps popping open while I'm washing the car.

They only time my key works for the frunk is when I am washing the car. I have to leave it out of my pocket when washing.
