Default Swap 20" wheels for 19" wheels?

I'm in Seal Beach, CA, and have a 2015 911 (base) with 20" wheels. I'd like to swap these for stock 19" 991 wheels. Anyone want to do a trade? I've got Pirelli P0s on them now, good tread left. Car is CPO, purchased last week.
Interested? Call Hank: 562-493-3589.

You are smart. Better ride comfort, less noise and better handling. "Why don't race cars have 20 inch wheels"?

Agreed! And cheaper rubber most of the time.

Love mine and not giving them up! But, you can buy 19's on eBay and sell yours there. It would probably be a wash. There are some 19's there right now for about $1500 that have been redone in gray - they look sharp.

Glad to hear I'm on the right track! I'll take a look at ebay and see what I find. And I like the look of the 19" wheels too.

Thanks everyone...

For what it's worth, I put 19s on for the winter this year and I really didn't notice a ride difference. I expected I would, but not so much. I think that the 991 suspension is very well tuned to ride well on the 20's and also the tire height on the 20's is the same as it was on the 997 19s so it didn't suffer from the usual ride degradation from shorter sidewalls. Long story short, 19's look great (my winter wheels do) but don't do it in search of a much improved ride. That's my experience.

Thanks for that input. (You have a 991?) Here's my thinking: if I just change to Michelin Super Sport tires (but keep 20" wheels) I might get a very slight ride improvement. If I just change to 19" wheels (stay with Pirelli tires) I might get a very slight improvement. But if I do BOTH, I have the best chance of a noticeable improvement. Yeah, those 19" look great on your 911....love the Sapphire Blue paint! I wish I could find a car in that color!

Just a headsup: the 991 19's have different offsets for C2 vs C4, and for 991.1 vs. 991.2.

Actually the wheels in my avatar are 20". I was referring to my winter wheels which are not in the picture. Thanks for the color compliment. I am thrilled with it. Quite rare. Although I have noticed a few Subarus that are nearly the same color!!

I had a Mercedes SLK320 in that color several years ago. MBZ called it 'Bahama Blue". It's beautiful especially with the beige interior. And thanks guys for the heads-up re: wheel offset info etc.

I run 30/35 psi, 'comfort setting, partial load' per manual.

Thanks again,

Just curious, did you end up swapping the 20s/Pirellis and going with the 19s/Michelins? If so, did you notice a difference in ride quality?

I'm curious how this wound up working for you as well! Interesting thread - thanks.

BTW, Nick's Burrito in Seal Beach changed my life when I lived there for three months back in 2007.

I'm a fan of 19s too. BTW one OEM tire (mine came with these) is the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2, an N-spec (N0) made in Germany. They are actually pretty good over all, although I'm pretty sure I'll replace with MPSS soon. I'm only mentioning it because it was sort of a surprise. Good luck with your search.

Yes, there was a slight ride improvement when I went with 19" wheels and Michelin PS4S tires. It took the "edge" off and made rough streets more tolerable.
