Pretty impressive but no way I'm monkeying with an ECU on a $130k vehicle under warranty.

This is for those who can shrug off $25k mistakes... if I was one of those guys it would be tempting.

A simple tune popped my Turbo up 80 HP and then 15 minutes later my clutch went out. Went to a LWFW, but the suspension felt soft. Went to a PSS9 setup, but the brakes started to fade. And on it went.

I had the GIAC on my F430. More power for sure, but driviabliity suffered and I ended up taking the tune out.

Getting easy HP is fun, but I think I'm done going down that rabbit hole

Haha that's hilarious. I did the same thing with my M3. Next thing I knew my checking account was 20k lighter and my car was chattering through the McDonalds drive thru. Although the second COBB comes out I will be buying it.

Much more brave than I with the F430. I had one a few years ago and wouldn't have dared do anything non-OEM... this stemming from my younger days and modded, subsequently blown motors on Camaros lol.

I'm currently resisting adding power to my 997.2 Turbo... just passed my CPO period.

LOL, yeah my LWFW was LOUD. People were always looking at me and waiting for the car to explode.

After replacing the failed headers, I said WTH and then did the CATs and exhaust. That was another instance when I wished I hadn't! It was such a PITA to try to get the CEL to clear and pass emissions. Then I said WTH and added the tune. Another mistake. The delivery of power was not smooth and the car would go into limp mode because it was running rich.

If I do add power, I'll just pony up the 6K for the Porsche power kit. Only 30 HP, but you know it'll be smooth and without problems.

If Porsche can make a stout motor/tranny like BMW there shouldn't be many problems. I had an E92 BMW 335I, 3.0L turbo with piggyback software that boosted the HP +80 and torque +100. Ran problem free for the 3 years i had it. Dealer never said anything when I took it in for service.

Amazing that we have so many people concerned about their warranties on this thread.

Why are you amazed? Would you like to give yours up?

Amazed because it sounds like a bunch of old men afraid to touch their precious cars.

I'll be tuning mine ASAP. The engine is easily good for a few hundred more whp.

Exact same internals for the Carrera, S, and GTS and the GTS comes with larger turbos Porsche knows people will tune to 550+. It's one of the reasons to buy the package IMO unless you want even more power which I certainly do.

Enjoy your warranties I guess.

Maybe he hasn't anything to give up? I did the whole Dinan menu (from the BMW dealer) on my '95 530i and the result was bad drivability and no perceptible gains. Tore out the whole deal to sell the car, and reminded myself that experience is the teacher that gives the test before the lesson.

My 991.2 S motor sprang an oil leak at 1.500 miles. My macan pdk sprang a tranny leak at 15,000 miles.

I wouldn't be so quick to void the warranty.

Your first mistake was going with Dinan.

First thing I did to my .1 was a GIAC tune. You only live life once.

Yeah, except all the tuners raved about them back then. 20/20.
