PDK Clutch and Sump Oil Temperature Limits
Hi Everyone,
I have a stock 2013 Carrera S with a PDK. I was wondering if anyone knew the clutch oil and sump oil temperatures that the PDK can handle?
I am assuming that at a certain point the vehicle will begin giving me warnings that they are getting too hot, and eventually start pulling torque/power to protect itself. Any help on finding out what those temperatures are and what starts to happen at those temperatures would be greatly appreciated it.

PDK's get beat up on the track all the time and launched over and over and over again w/o any temp issues that I know of.
The car over all sheds heat extremely well.

I've read that the fluid pump in the PDK runs at variable speed based upon heat levels in the clutches to help control temperatures. Also, when launch mode is engaged, the PDK preps for the "shock" by turning the fluid pump up to full speed prior to the actual launch.
There is a Road and Track video of a 2014 Turbo S PDK doing 50 back-to-back PDK launches with no performance decrease, so if a Turbo S can handle 50 of those I think our non-Turbos will be just fine.

I love that video.

I guess I'm not really that worried about actually doing damage to the trans/clutches due to overheating. More just curious about how hot this thing actually gets.
Does anyone know what actual temperatures the gear oil and clutch oil gets to when it heats up, like on the track? Or what temperatures are considered "hot" for a stock pdk?
