Yes. Does show on USA site that first service is no charge. Unfortunately, does not mention that on the Canadian site. Also, on the Canadian site it makes no mention of PSE being available with black tips.

I'm surprised the websites were updated so quickly when 2018's will not be showing up here until late summer or fall.
Any chance the enhanced PCM with upgraded connect plus will be fitted in cars produced from here on out (even late 2017's)?

Standard practice. 2018s are available for ordering with a June build, therefore the configurator and associated prices must be updated. It happens all the time this way.

I just find it strange that nowhere on the website does it differentiate 2017 and 2018 features.
1/4 of the 2017's have not even been produced yet and people who go on the website without knowledge from forums like this would assume the 2017 they are getting has the updated PCM, connect plus with apps and traffic, active carbon filter, first scheduled maintenance included etc.
I'm surprised this doesn't cause the dealers lots of agony when customers pick up their cars and say "but on the website it says that feature is standard".

If you are on the website building a car, as of today it will be a 2018 model unless the dealer has one on the lot or on the way. if you are talking to a dealer about a car, he/she would go over the standard features with you.

There isn't a huge difference between the cars. In Canada you get multifunction and heated steering wheel standard. There is an improved car connect package and some change to the PCM. But in essence, the car has few changes.

I think a dealer could easily resolve your questions.

If you had a saved 2017 configuration ("Porsche Code") and then try to load it, it will ask you if you want to update to the current model year. This is how you know the configurator is now updated with the new MY - in this case 2018. (I've seen this multiple times throughout the years).


When you click yes, the configurator shows you the price increases for the car and each of the options you selected in your 2017 build. However, it doesn't tell you what is a new option that is available or things that are now standard.

Have any of you been able to select Steering Column Casing in Leather with Stitching in Deviated Thread? I get a "data error, configuration not possible" when trying. Seems like all of the deviated thread selections result in an error.

Same here. I tried multiple platforms and browsers too. GT3 build with these options works though.


One thought is to try the configuration on the German configurator if you just want to see what it looks like. That might work. http://www.porsche.com/germany/modelstart/


EDIT: Just tried it. It is selectable including the thread color.....but it does not show on the configurator even in the 3D mode.

Lol my thoughts exactly. "Already looks dirty so dirt doesn't show as good" just like black wheels. Why not just spray-paint some brownish muddy looking colors around the bottom of the car so when mud splashes up on it, it'll look the same?

Stitching in deviated color solved...

You first need to select the fact that you want to have some deviated stitching at the bottom of the configurator. That process walks you through where you want to apply the deviated stitching there you can select the steering column leather.

The deviated thread for the steering column still does not work for a two tone leather interior. For that, I suppose you still need to order it as a Z option #90027 from the dealer.

Is the interior restyled on the 2018 models? I heard that there was supposed to be a total restyle of the 2018 Cayenne that included dual multi-function screens like the new Panamera as well as removing all the center console buttons like the Panamera. There were even some photos circulating online of a restyled 2018 Cayenne.

Does anyone have any insight on this? My local dealer is clueless.

I doubt it. I suspect the 991.2 will mostly stay as is in that regard (although there is some reference to PCM upgrade) with any significant changes coming with the 2019 992. But I don't claim any inside knowledge on the matter.

This is not happening on the 2018 911s. Probably in the 992.
