Default What Ian this component and why is it rusting

I have a 2015 C4S and noticed this part rusted on both sides. It's the only rusting components on the vehicle. I assume that this is normal and has zero impact on the vehicle's operation, but I'm curious. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

eric

That is the CV joint housing, it's bare steel, and surface corrosion is perfectly normal.

O man. That is a terrible sign. CPO should have caught that. I'd take it back and make them give me a new car and a GT allocation.
