Best quote from the film is at 3:54
Referring to the first 901/911: "critics proclaimed that it was not a genuine Porsche. Only a 356 was a genuine Porsche..." Mainly citing the change to 6 cylinders which were needed to keep up with the competition. I guess they hated technology advances even back then

He said, oh that's nothing, you should have heard the 356 guys screaming when the 911 came out. The 356 doors, its like closing a bank vault. The 911 is cheap and flimsy!
I don't see it as Porsche, or Porsche owners even, hating technology. Far from it. I would say its more a profound respect for the proposition that when you've invested immense time, energy and talent getting something as near perfect as you can, you damn well better not screw it up just for the sake of doing something new.

I just started watching Ep. 1 over lunch and got a kick out of the British car owner complaining about the 911's engine being in the wrong place. Especially after seeing the guys pushing their Mini's down the road - was that part of the show or out of necessity?!!
