Default Targa Goes TechArt - The Perfect Tourer - TAG Motorsports

Every once in a while, a build sneaks up on me. The car comes in, parts arrive, the build is completed, and I’m handed the keys to *something* followed by “It’s ready”. Usually after that I walk outside directly to what is clearly a freshly modified car.

With this 991 Targa, things were slightly different. It took me a second to realize what I was about to shoot, since to me, this Targa didn’t look like a freshly modified car at all.

It simply looked like how a Targa should have come from factory.

It never ceases to amaze me how TechArt parts just... belong. From the fit and finish to how they are designed. To put it plainly, they make sense.

The TechArt painted Headlight Surrounds clean up the front end, eliminating the silver trim that comes from factory.

To spice up the rearend but keeping with the OEM-style, the Vorsteiner Rear Decklid Spoiler painted in body color is the perfect addition of sportiness, but done subtly.

The TechArt Formula IV wheels could pass as OEM, fitting perfectly with the timeless style of the 911, and following the traditional design of TechArt and Porsche. The TechArt Front Noselift System, combined with the TechArt lowering springs that come included, keep the new wheels and tires sitting perfectly within the wheel wells for a perfect fitment.

The AWE Tuning Exhaust fitted with the TechArt Exhaust Tips in Satin Black provide the desired roar and look with “Touring" in mind, rather than “Race” in a perfect balance.

A coupe of changes to the color scheme of the Targa really make a difference: A pillars and the classic Targa rollbar are done in black, to bring the black and white theme home.

Here are the current mods for this 911:

2016 Porsche Targa 4S
- TechArt Formula IV Wheels in Satin Black Finish
- 255/30/21 & 325/25/21 Pirelli PZero Tires
- TechArt Lowering Springs
- TechArt Noselift For Front
- TechArt Headlight Surrounds
- TechArt Exhaust Tips in Black
- AWE Tuning Wind Diffusors
- AWE Tuning Switchpath Exhaust System for PSE
- OEM Porsche Black Badge Logo Kit
- Vorsteiner Rear Deck Lid Spoiler
-GIAC ECU Upgrade

yes - I wasn't sure to poke the bear or not after my playful jab at the 991.2 kids.

I do often wonder who spends that kind of money on aesthetics and doesn't do the radiator mesh when I see these.

Looks great! Seems to me like when you use TechArt springs with 21" wheels it eliminates a good bit more fender gap. It's appears equivalent to H&R on 20"s.

I agree - The TechArts are not as aggresive as the H&R's in general but certainly rides better because of it.

Roger also carries them. I got the full set of three from him for my CSF radiator.
