Anyone have the dealership install Sport exhaust after purchase?
I have a base 991.2 with standard exhaust. I'm interested in getting the Sport exhaust with the button installed, is that pretty simple to have done or is that a big deal and I'd wish I didn't?

Hey 99999,
I read your 'gas cap' post last night, and burst out laughing. But I couldn't figure out if you were kidding. So, I looked at a couple of your old posts. Your post below caused the end of an iPad screen (due to liquid spray).
The original post that made me laugh -
Well, that was embarrassing... sorry to bother you guys.
I salute you sir ! I suggest a self install of the exhaust. Please post a video.

Simple for you? No. More complicated than the has cap
Cheap for you? No. More $$ than the .1's. And the gas cap too. Add like $1,500-$2K labor too. Parts only:

I'm glad you asked this question. My lease will be up in August of 2018. If I elect to keep the car, I am seriously considering adding the sport exhaust option. However, if STG is correct, I'm nor sure its worth 6K.

no, I'm not suggesting a self installation. What I meant by "simple" is, is it reasonable for me to expect the delearship would do a perfect job of it, or is it such a big deal that it only really turns out right if the factory did it in the first place, and so I'd just option it next time around. I.e, are the parts pretty much pull out and replace, or is a lot of skilled labor necessary. How much of the interior gets dissembled to make that new button on the console work, etc. the more they have to do, the less I would be interested in having it done.
I don't think I've earned people going out of their way to make me look like an idiot. The dent on the back was an honest question as to if that was a reasonable place they could get to with PDR, and the cap came with an install directive to use a Porsche Authorized installer, didn't seem right at all, so I asked about it.

This is a good question ... being the rear bumper trim is different for the sport exhaust on the 991.2 I'd like to know when doing this is the black trim a simple change over and if so is it included in the parts ?

Since you asked about the button install, I had the dealer install PSE on my .1 which included the button. It was no problem for them, not really sure what they had to remove to access all the areas, but they did a great job, looks like it came from the factory that way. I realize with the .2 changing the bumper is required, but should be simple for the dealership to swap out.

New 992 (is that the nomenclature?) will be out by 2019/2020. I will probably be in the same position - if I want the PSE - I'll just put it on a new one when my lease is up. However, the issue is - I dislike the look of a 4S wide body beauty with center dual pipes. It looks out of place. Just my eyes...
