Opinions Please
I have been in the market for a 991.1 for some time - just waiting for the right car at the right price to come up. Well I found this one last week and wanted to get everyone's opinions on the build/price before I pull the trigger. I am coming from a 2015 M3 if that helps.
I got the dealer down as low as he will go - $71,000.00

Trade off b/w a short option list and a very low number of miles. Also you don't mention whether it is CPO. That would make the deal better.
If the car ticks the boxes you like, then I'd say it's a good deal. If not, I bet you could find a similar deal in a nationwide search that will yield a car with a closer spec to what you want. Good deal!

Seems like a great price to me. 20% depreciation in year #1 and another approx. 15% depreciation in year #2. Try to get the dealership to CPO the car. Anything under an additional $3k would be winning.

I should have mentioned - this is not CPO'd - I actually found it at a Ford dealership of all places. The previous 991 owner knows the dealership owner and traded it in on a Raptor of all things.

Explains quite a bit. Could be a very good deal because, in trades, the dealer usually gets the trade for next to nothing. And since the dealer doesn't get a lot of Porsche buyers walking into his showroom, he is likely and, perhaps, even anxious, to deal to get rid of it. Translation: be bold in your bidding.
What year is the thing? New MSRP? Do you have a trade? What does CARFAX say. Are you leasing? How long has it been on the lot? Warranty left?

If you are serious about this car, I'd recommend:
1) Put down a (refundable) deposit- so no one buys it before you have a chance to finalize the deal
2) Ask for a photo of the odo and tell them "no more miles, and no joy rides" until deal is finalized or you pass on the car

Since this car is at a Ford dealer one can assume the following:
1) It has already been offered to family and friends
2) Not alot of Pcar traffic Ford stores
I suggest that you go online to the NADA website and obtain the retail, wholesale and auction price for this car. It will cost you a few $ for a one time use but certainly worth it in the negotiation arena. If this car is not moved quickly, the store will send it to the auction house. It is important to know this number to determine how much negotiating room you have. Remember, the store makes its $$ by hitting new car sales targets, this car is not on their radar. I assume that they likely have taken it in on consignment or if a real trade paid in the mid to low 60's for it.

Im guessing this is not a S , thats why its cheaper. Id only buy a S. Before you do anything you have to take it to a dealer and get a complete inspection and get them to look up the history. You havent got a good deal unless its a good car

the $53k for the trade is in line with a dealer transaction. Could I hold out for $1,000-1,200 more? Sure - but this seems fair based upon listings I have seen for my car (which was an early build / launch m3 - coming up on 3 years old)
