Default 991.2 GTS Targa-- Front Axle Lifter?

Hey everyone,
I am ordering a 991.2 Targa... do I need the front end lifter? I was OK in the driveway with my cayman gt4... not sure how low this new GTS will be... Thanks!

And the targa comes higher than the standard GTS by like 10mm anyways, you shouldnt need it at all if you were good with a GT4

I have a lifter on my 991.2 TTS, use it sometimes but not a whole lot. Skipped it on my Targa GTS order. 100% sure i won't miss it.

Depends on where u live and the terrain of places u frequent. I have it and find myself using it ever so often. I don't think u can retroactively add it like some other features.

I have a GT4 and ground that regularly in CA roads - even with using the "angle" technique.

My GT3RS has a lifter and it is a godsend - best thing is it reacts very quickly. This front aprons are relatively cheap, but for that one big dip, I thought it was worth the investment in the 991.2 Cabrio I just ordered.

If you were fine with the GT4, skip it for sure.

Had a GT4, currently have a 991.2 Targa 4S that is lowered about 1" on Techart springs.

It sits MILES high from the factory. Huge ground clearance, huge fender to tire gap. It is unsightly and 4x4 looking. Sits so high stock that I lowered it as soon as I got it home from PEC (~1000 miles) and honestly it still is too high. You do NOT need the front axel lift at all I don't care where you drive(unless you plan to slam it like a 2-3" drop). I will say it is very relaxing not worrying about scraping all the time compared to my previous GT3 and GT4!

Also of note on the 991.2 both front and rear shocks have perches and you can raise and lower the car on these independent of springs. I'd like to drop mine by 1 in the front and 2 in the rear but I didn't know about them until AFTER the shop installed the springs and the labor (on the Targa) to do the springs is really stupid since the rears are so complicated and hard to access due to the Targa top mechanicals.

added weight and added risk... if you had a GT4 then the targo will seem like a truck.

Not if he ordered SPASM which would make it as low as a GTS. My C2S has SPASM and I have bottomed out twice in California. In my condo's garage entrance and exiting a gas station. It sits low as the 991.2 is already 10mm lower than 991.1 and with SPASM another 10mm. I've perfected he angled approach, but had I opted for the lift kit, my heart would be a lot calmer going in and out of driveways. It's not absolutely necessary though. I will probably swap out the front spoiler piece in 2 years if it gets bad.

You can't get SPASM on a Targa or Cabriolet. Coupes only, like the Aerokit Cup. Targa / Cabriolet GTS's have PASM, not SPASM.

Check the configurator...can't order SPASM on a targa GTS, so it still sits quite a bit higher than a GTS with SPASM. That targa will be higher than your C2s (991.1) with SPASM by at least 10mm. California however SUCKS with driveways...that would be the only reason I'd get it should I have lived there with a steep entry. FWIW I spec it for any GT car I can though.
