Default power kit X51 now on USA configurator

X51 power kit includes sport chrono and sport exhaust. Only $13,765 I edited this message to show that the $13,765 figure also includes the rest of the sports package which would also include rear wheel steering, GT sport wheel in leather, and sports design exterior mirrors. X51 with sport chrono and sport exhaust will be $12,180. So a little cheaper. Sorry for the confusion.

That's a deal. I paid over $18 in 2014 for the 30 pony bump. I luv it.

X51 alone includes the sport chrono and PSE so subtract those two options to determine the cost of the "power" in the power kit, but the $13,765 is the power kit plus the sport package (RWS, sport mirrors, GT steering wheel) which means the power component is about $7K.

Too bad, only EUR 9,996 in Germany including 19% VAT (would be under $10k usd if priced like the rest of the car here)

Just checked the configurator and it shows the "3.0 S Powerkit" at US$12,180. Including PSE and sport chrono package.

You are correct on this. I failed to note the remaining parts of the sport package were also included for $13.785 which is listed in the package options. If you drop down to Performance options there is a $12,180 option for X51 which does not include sports package. Only X51, sport chrono, and sport exhaust.

Hopefully it will be offered in Australia in the near future - In my view, Porsche should offer this option from the get go.

It will be available as a retrofit from Tequipment, components based on your VIN. Dealer asked if I was interested. I plan to wait for GTS road tests and turbo lag compared to my C2S before doing anything to my car.

Did he give you an installation estimate? I imagine there is a lot of labor...

Said it was a lot less than previous X51 since it's basically changing out the turbos and new software. His ballpark depending on how much Porsche charges them for kit (no SC or PSE) was $7-9K installed, full warranty.

I have a 2017 GTS 4 on order. Very, very loaded. I just outfitted a c4s with almost exact configuration, and, basically, the same cost. Difference - GTS gives rear wheels .5" wider, sport design rear end (Tiny duck tail !), steering wheel and center lock wheel (which folks may not want so the 5 bolt 20" are free option)
