Default PDCC reservoir replacement at 60K miles.

Has anyone had it done yet?

It looks like a PITA to do DIY.

I've checked it for fluid level a few times. It's obscured, for sure, but doesn't look like it would be such a horrible job to replace. Is there a particular replacement procedure that is difficult or are you just worried about access to the reservoir?

According to the newly acquired work shop manual the entire PDCC pump needs to be removed to get to the bottle which means removing the belt and all the hydraulic lines to get the unit out.

When I read that I wondered why they had it scheduled along the same time as the accessary belt.... it makes sense.

I'm planning on letting the dealer do it at 60K...... I do it myself at 120K .

In looking at the work shop manual, it's straight forward but layers of the car will be on the floor before you get to the pump.

PDCC used to be on my wishlist of most desirable options. But for a keeper Porsche, it's just an added complexity to maintain. And Porsches handle well enough without it. My indie Porsche service and race shop guys aren't fond of it either.

The fact that they don't use it on the GT models says something too...

Is this covered under warranty?
what's the dealer charge?

Or the Macan, which you would think would benefit from it a lot more than a 911 would.

What it says is that the GT cars are not really intended to be multi-purpose.

Most people seem to misunderstand the full purpose of PDCC.

It's not a warranty item. PDCC bottle replacement is part of the 60K mile service.

I'll let you know how much it is..

Since you have to remove the belt and the belt replacement is part of the 60K I bet the labor to do the bottle replacement is close to a wash. But we will see.

The dealer has to order a few parts before I take it in for the service.

Not sure how to word the question. Is PDDC independent of the control modules and computers?

Not a bit. PDCC is an active system. The sway bar links are active hydraulic components the characteristics of which are controlled by the computers based upon a variety of dynamic factors.

There’s a good ovewview available for members in tech info sticky thread at the top of the forum page.

Spoke to my local Porsche Service Manger about this. He looked it up for me. Parts and Labor is $800 to have the reservoir replaced once every 60,000 miles or 6 years.
